Piccuta Travels to Chicago to Attend Conference with Other Trial Lawyers

On August 10, 2018, the founding attorney of Scottsdale Injury Lawyers, LLC, Tony Piccuta, flew to Chicago, Illinois to attend a conference with other trial lawyers. The conference was attended by other prominent attorneys who primarily represent injury victims. Attorneys licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada and Texas participated in the three day conference. The conference was well attended with several members of the American Association for Justice present as well as members of other trial lawyer associations.

There were presentations and discussions on numerous topics focused on trial practice and plaintiff’s injury law. These topics included: trial strategy, developments in the law, tort reform, medical records and billing, the political climate on juror biases, legal funding, class action litigation, expert witnesses, among others. There were also several focus group conducted where members in attendance presented summaries of their cases and previewed evidence for opinions and feedback. The focus groups are a valuable tool that allow the attorneys handling the case to obtain opinions from a collective group. A collective analysis brings forth new theories and presents new angles on how to view and advance a case. Through this process, an attorney is able to thoroughly learn the strengths and weaknesses of his or her case and develop new case themes for use at trial.
